Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
From May through mid-October, our Warm Weather Shipping policy helps protect temperature-sensitive sweets so they arrive in the best condition possible. When an order includes items that require special handling, a $6 Warm Weather Shipping service fee will automatically be applied at checkout.
Warm Weather Shipping Cost
Orders containing temperature-sensitive items require Warm Weather Shipping at an additional cost of $6 per address where the upgrade is applied.
This fee helps cover the cost of special packaging, which may include insulated shipping materials, cold packs, and express shipping when needed.
Insulated Packaging & Cold Packs
During warm weather months, orders containing chocolate and other heat-sensitive items are packed with insulation sleeves and frozen gel packs. This packaging is designed to help protect product quality for up to 2 days in transit.
Cold packs will gradually thaw during shipping. Any shipment traveling outside of our standard 2-day delivery area may require express shipping to help ensure the order arrives in the best possible condition.
Shipping Days for Heat-Sensitive Items
From May through mid-October, heat-sensitive items ship Monday through Wednesday only. This helps prevent packages from sitting in a FedEx facility or truck over the weekend.
Please make sure someone is available to receive the package and move it indoors to an air-conditioned space as soon as possible. FedEx may leave packages at the door if no one is home. River Street Sweets cannot be responsible for melting or damage caused by packages being left outside after delivery.
Apple Orders
Apple orders are automatically upgraded to express shipping due to their perishability. They ship separately from the rest of your order in specially made coolers.
Apples cannot be shipped to PO boxes, military addresses, Alaska, or Hawaii.
Military Addresses, PO Boxes, Alaska & Hawaii
Some of our most perishable items cannot ship to military addresses, PO boxes, Alaska, or Hawaii. This includes bakery items and apples.
We are happy to help you choose the right gift for your destination so it arrives in the best condition possible. For assistance, please call our Gift Specialist at 1-800-793-3876 for a one-on-one consultation.
Glazed Pecan Canister
Our chefs use mammoth-size Georgia pecans, slow-cook them in a slightly salty, slightly sweet glaze, and separate each one by hand on a large marble slab before packaging. The Glazed Pecan Canister is 14 ounces of that work, in a keepsake gift canister.
What's Inside
A 14oz keepsake canister of our hand-glazed mammoth Georgia pecans.
- 14oz Glazed Pecans in a keepsake canister
- Mammoth-size whole Georgia pecan halves
- Cooked in a slightly salty, slightly sweet glaze
- Hand-separated on a marble slab to prevent clumping
- Hand-made in our Savannah, GA candy kitchen
- Resealable canister keeps them crunchy
The Marble Slab Detail
Most candied pecans clump in the bag because they got dumped from a hot pot to a packing line. Ours get separated one by one on a large marble slab, which keeps each pecan in its own glaze coat.
Best For
Pecan snackers, salad toppers, charcuterie boards, gift basket fillers, hostess gifts, and the recipient who keeps a canister on the kitchen counter year-round.
