River Street Sweets Donates to Ronald McDonald House to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

 

River Street Sweets, a beloved Savannah candy company with a 50-year history, is donating $1,973 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire (RMHC) to commemorate its founding year. This donation reflects the company's commitment to its community and celebrates its success. The check presentation will take place on August 17 at the RMHC house in Savannah.

Jennifer Strickland, co-owner of River Street Sweets, expressed delight in supporting RMHC, highlighting the organization's vital role in providing comfort and support to families with children undergoing medical treatment. RMHC offers accommodations, meals, laundry facilities, and a supportive community for these families.

RMHC Executive Director Bill Sorochak expressed gratitude for River Street Sweets' generous donation, emphasizing the importance of community support in easing the burden of medical care. This donation underscores the Strickland Family's ongoing dedication to philanthropy, as they also support other local organizations like Feeding America's Kids Cafe, the Caretta Research Project, and Senior Citizens, Inc.
